• Let's send more veterans to Congress.

Forty years ago, as many as 71% of elected officials in Washington, D.C. were veterans.
Now, that number is merely 14% – and each year, it gets smaller and smaller.

More and more, we're losing veteran representation in Congress.

Even just forty years ago, veterans comprised of a high percentage of Members of Congress. Today, that number continues to dwindle. Between approving military budgets – generally half of total spending – fixing the issues plaguing the Department of Veterans Affairs, and foreign policy issues, veterans who answer the call to serve their constituents in Washington, D.C. have a unique perspective.

Defend Our Nation is proud to support those who want to serve again – this time in a suit.

What We Do

Defend Our Nation is dedicated to electing veterans to the U.S. Congress.

We believe in supporting veterans who share our military values of leadership, professionalism, and technical know-how. Our military veterans stand for the belief that all of our military are warfighters first and as such have no peers. With this same dedication and patriotism, our veterans truly understand that America’s most precious resource is our military members.

We will never compromise on the quality of our most important resource: the people who have chosen to serve you and serve this great nation. They are your sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, husbands and wives – people of whom we are very proud.

We believe our country’s veterans are a valuable untapped resource of leadership and dedication that will bring those same values to public office. Our military veterans possess the qualities our country needs in its public officials: leadership experience in the face of adversity, familiarity with a broad cross-section of American society, and an intimate understanding of the human consequences of Washington’s foreign policy decisions.

Today more than ever, our country needs more veterans in public office. Following over a decade of war, we now have an entire generation of recent warfighters who are looking to become engaged in the political and policy discussion that drives this great nation forward. We seek to enhance opportunity and provide resources to those veterans looking to achieve this worthy goal.

Our veterans are some of the best of America.
